The Vancouver Volunteer Teaching Project, initiated by Cecilia & Kevin Music Academy, aims to harness the power of music and education to cultivate a generation united in creating a better future.
Every spring break, teachers Kevin and Cecilia lead Canadian high school students back to China to volunteer at migrant workers’ children’s schools and in remote areas, where they teach English and music. These students not only impart knowledge but also bring love and care, lighting up the lives of those children. We have worked in various schools, donating instruments and books to create learning opportunities.
Over the past ten years, nearly thirty volunteers have gone on to attend university, with two-thirds entering Ivy League institutions in the United States. Each graduate carries letters and small gifts from the children in China, cherishing this precious experience and committing to never forget:
